Frequently Asked Questions
01 How long will I be in counseling?
The length of time a client is in counseling depends on the nature of the problem and the goals of the counseling. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a set course of counseling. For others, counseling is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive counseling for a longer period.
02 How long and how many times a week is a typical session?
Sessions are usually 50 to 60 minutes. Most clients are seen once or twice a week initially, then less frequently as time passes. The number of sessions depends on what your current needs are.
03 What if I want couples counseling, but my partner won't come?
Unfortunately, sometimes one partner is not as willing as the other to come in for counseling. However, we often find that it is possible to improve the relationship with just one person involved in counseling.
04 How much are your Fees and do you take insurance?
Your fee depends on the kinds of services that you request. Please call our office to learn more about our fees, methods of payment, insurances that we accept, and general payment policy. We do not provide free counseling services.
05 Do I need to take medications?
Medication isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, and it’s not the only path to feeling better. For some people, it can be a helpful tool—especially if symptoms like anxiety, depression, or mood instability are significantly impacting daily life. For others, therapy, lifestyle changes, and holistic approaches may be enough.
